Limpet, Steffan and Jared. Three best friends crammed into a clapped-out rust bucket of a car on a whirlwind road trip to forget their troubles and see out the end of the summer. But no matter how far they drive, they can’t escape the hidden secrets and slow-burning romance that could upset the balance of their friendship – perhaps forever
I love road trip stories. Maybe because it is my life-long dream to travel or maybe it's because I am yet to find one that I haven't enjoyed. But one thing is for sure and that is that Harcourts The Last Summer of Us is my favourite.
I had been intrigued by the book long before it was published but I had noidea the journey it would take me on.
Harcourt manages to effortlessly take us through a story of heartbreak, loss and teen angst while keeping this beautiful and heartwarming adventure of friendship, love and change alive and pulsing throughout.
I found it very refreshing to read a road trip story that was realist to me as Brit and as a nineteen year old. Set is Wales The Last Summer of Us tells the stor of three teenagers who set out on a road trip to escape the loss and pain that is filling their summer. This adventure is grand and life changing, but because it is with each other and not because of its scale or fortitude.
Limpet, Steffan and Jared make an epic, exhilirating and hilarious trio that truly make this story so great. I could definitely go on reading tales of their lives!
The Last Summer of Us is a storythat everyone should expereince. Harcourt's unique and beautiful read is one of top of 2015!
