The shocking reality behind a £10 million inheritance turns Evie Brown’s world on it’s head. Unable to find out the truth from her parents, Evie ends up on the mysterious and remote island of Lightsea with a group of fellow teens. Strange things start happening on the island, but who is responsible and what do they know about Evie’s secret? Her desire for answers leads her towards a series of revelations that threaten everything she holds dear- including her life.
I cannot tell you much about the plot and storyline that the above blurb doesn’t without giving too much away as, in true McKenzie style, from the very first page we are thrown into a mystery, and those twists and teasers don’t stop throughout the novel.
I went into ‘All My Secrets’ without hesitation. Sophie Mckenzie is the true Queen of Suspense and to her I say bravo, Miss McKenzie, you have done it again. Some books can have you gripped and hooked and obsessed throughout, but 'All My Secrets’ truly had me addicted from the very first line, and that is something I have never experienced before. If you are new to McKenzie’s writing then I would recommend this title as a great place to start, and be prepared to be on the edge of your seat for the entire journey you will go on with Evie as she tries to uncover the lies of her past while surviving the building secrets of the present.
There is not a tonne of information out at the moment on this latest release from McKenzie, but from what I understand it is a stand alone, although I truly hope that there is more to come. I have fallen for Evie’s strong willed and realistic nature, and my appetite for adventure has not yet been fulfilled with stories she shares with the island gang. Plus, with a hefty £10 million to come her way there are a lot more adventures to be taken.
Sophie McKenzie has been one of my favourite authors for a long time so I guess you could say I am easy swayed, but she is yet to release a novel that I haven’t been thrilled to join the adventure and I will gladly add 'All My Secrets’ to my growing collections on her books. I would never say I loved a book that I didn’t and everybody has their own things that they look for in a good novel, and that is what I think makes 'All My Secrets’ such a fantastic book. It has something for everyone. Jam packed full of action, romance, secrets and ghosts.
What more could you want?
As an aspiring author myself I have to say that Sophie McKenzie is one writer that I look up to for her pure ability to hook a reader and keep them hooked throughout. She sends ordinary teens on extraordinary ventures, and, as we have the privilege to able read to dream and escape, there is no better hands than McKenzie’s to place that privilege in.
