Oh man. What exciting news we got today. The loveliest of lovelies, Sabaa Tahir, dropped SEVERAL book bombs on us all at once today. We not only fiiinally got the title for the third installment in the An Ember In the Ashes quartet, but we also got a COVER AND PUB DATE!
But wait, there's more!
She also revealed that the entire series is being repackaged, with GLORIOUS new covers, and revealed those as well. My Emberling heart definitely exploded today. So much Ember-y goodness.
So, is your body ready for this reveal???
THESE COVERS ARE MY EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW. Seriously, I have no chill about this. I think all three of the new covers are absolutely stunning, they are going to stand out on the shelves of every bookstore.
And look at book three! A REAPER AT THE GATES! My precious Helene! It hits stores April 10, 2018 and I CANNOT WAIT. Seriously, Torch was very nearly the death of me last year, so I'm whole-heartedly looking forward to Sabaa destroying me yet again with an entire novel full of her beautiful words.

Now. There has been some discussion happening that I want to chime in on.
I understand that a lot of people hate when a publisher changes the covers for a series mid-series. I get it. We all want our bookshelves to look all matchy-matchy and Instagram-worthy.
I also get just not liking the covers. There are plenty of books out there that I hate the covers for.(I don't really understand why people think these are so ugly- I feel like the hatred is mostly stemming from the change and not from what they actually look like.)
Here's how I see it- if you love the series enough to feel this passionately about a cover change, maybe you need to think about why. If I love a book THAT much, I want to support it. I want the author to write more books like it. Spreading hate and disdain for a book cover(ugh, even typing that out put a bad taste in my mouth. Too much petty in half a sentence.) is seriously not going to help this author or series you supposedly love. Nope. I personally want to shove the Ember series into the hands of everyone I can, and if they decided to go with a blank, chartreuse cover with the title in Times New Roman? Yeah, I don't care. It's what in the book that counts, right?
Sabaa Tahir also stated today that she wanted Laia to be represented on the covers as a woman of color. I think this is something that people DEFINITELY need to respect. Quit crying over a BOOK COVER(omg seriously, it's a book cover) and take a second to think about this step in the right direction for publishing. Maybe instead of moaning about it on Twitter you could send Sabaa a tweet congratulating her on getting the kind of cover she wanted? The kind of cover we need to see more of?
So yeah, I think that's enough focus on the negative. I really freaking love these books, I think Sabaa Tahir is a wonderful person, and I'm so happy for her. The new covers are just stunning, I can't wait to see them in person. And I can't recommend this series highly enough. Please, if you haven't read it and like a good fantasy with incredibly characters, check this series out. I promise you won't regret it.
