Princess Sepora of Serubel and King Tarik of Theoria have formed an uneasy truce between their kingdoms since the deadly plague began to rip through Theoria. Since their feelings for each other are entangled in politics and power, they must use their own trusted resources to find common ground.
But when traitors with powerful allies arise from unexpected places, Tarik and Sepora face challenges that will change both of their kingdoms forever. Will they learn whom to trust—including each other—in time to save their kingdoms, their relationship and even their lives?
Guys, I am SO excited for this book. I'm starting it in the next few days and I absolutely cannot wait. Nemesis was by far one of my favorite books from 2016, I can't wait to see how everything ends in this sequel!
Now for some fun- an interview with author Anna Banks!
First, thank you so much for having me today. I really appreciate it! ☺
1. What sparked the initial idea for the Nemesis books?
Not to sound cliché, but first it was a dream. I happen to be a vivid dreamer every single night, and honestly, I get a lot of ideas from this. The dream for NEMESIS was recurring that happened whenever I listened to romantic music before bed. Finally, one time, when I woke up, I remembered enough to analyze what was happening while I slept. A girl and guy were enemies, but completely perfect for each other. She had been captured by his kingdom and intrigued him greatly, and they fought ALL the time, which of course I find ravenously romantic lol. I realized that the dreams took place in a huge palace, and I decided to take on Ancient Egypt, because of my fascination with it since childhood. So I watch tons and tons of documentaries. Bought tons of books. Then tweaked it to suit my own purposes, lol!
2. Was there a particular character who you enjoyed writing the most?
I really enjoy writing Sethos, Tarik’s younger brother. He’s so straight-line in his beliefs that if you don’t believe the same thing, then you’re wrong. (And usually you’re right, but to him you’re dead wrong.) He’s outspoken and ballsy, and I’d like to just BE him.
3. What can we expect from ALLY?
There is a lot that happens in ALLY. We see a lot of the other kingdoms here, and introductions of new characters. There’s romance, betrayal, and…I’m sorry but someone you love dies. So there’s that.
4. Do you have any other upcoming projects you're working on?
I’m actually co-writing a YA novel with my friend called ALT. It’s X-Men meets today’s political climate, and I’m super excited to be writing it with her in particular.
5. What is one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
I would say a million and fifteen things. One, I’m not going to tell you not to give up. The truth is, some writers should give up, because they’re not cut out for this. I mean that in the nicest way possible. Because if you’re sensitive and you need validation all the time, this is not the business for you. However, if you can take hit after hit of disappointment, and wave after wave of criticism, welcome! We love you! Lol!
Two, study your craft. Listen to other writers on their process. Read, read, read. Don’t write to a trend, write what you’re passionate about—it will show, trust me. And above all else, let other people read your work.
6. What was your last 5 star read?
Daughter of the Pirate King and Traitor’s Kiss. Yummy!
Thank you SO much, Anna, for stopping by! I can't wait to read ALT, it sounds fantastic, and now I'm even more excited than I was for ALLY!
I also have the amazing privilege of sharing an exclusive, stunning work of art that Anna has had created for the series by David North. Every piece that he has created is beautiful, but I'm extra excited about this one!

And just in case you haven't read the first book in this series, NEMESIS(you totally should), here's a little bit about that one!
The princess didn't expect to fall in love--with her nemesis.
Princess Sepora of Serubel is the last Forger in all the five kingdoms. The spectorium she creates provides energy for all, but now her father has found a way to weaponize it, and his intentions to incite war force her to flee from his grasp. She escapes across enemy lines into the kingdom of Theoria, but her plans to hide are thwarted when she is captured and placed in the young king's servitude.
Tarik has just taken over rulership of Theoria, and must now face a new plague sweeping through his kingdom and killing his citizens. The last thing he needs is a troublesome servant vying for his attention. But mistress Sepora will not be ignored. When the two finally meet face-to-face, they form an unlikely bond that complicates life in ways neither of them could have imagined.
Sepora's gift could save Tarik's kingdom from the Quiet Plague. But should she trust her growing feelings for her nemesis, or should she hide her gifts at all costs?
And now for the last bit of fun... a giveaway!
12 winners will receive a complete set of the exclusive pieces of art created for the series by David North (the images revealed during each tour stop), US Only.
